When I graduated high school, I immediately joined the Marine Corps. It was and had always been a dream of mine to serve our country in a purposeful way. I spent eight years as a Sergeant and travel all over the U.S. and the world.
It was truly an honor to serve my country.
There is so much about my time in the corps that has shaped who I am and how I handle situations even today. I continue to pride myself as someone who puts service to others above everything else. I am grateful for the peace, discipline, courage, and confidence that the marines gave me.
Every September, I think back over the many reasons behind that decision and am thankful for those who continue to serve our country.
