While this halloween...might be a little bit different this year, here are a few things you can do to celebrate safely here in the Desert!
OCTOBER 26, 2019 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Join the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens for Howl-O-Ween. Visitors of all ages are invited to dress up in their favorite costume and experience park-wide activities, like face paining, arts and crafts, carnival games, animal encounters, entertainment and more, along with the every-day wonders of The Living Desert.
YMCA HALLOWEEN DRIVE THROUGH
OCTOBER 29, 2020 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Join the Family YMCA of the Desert’s fun family-friendly experience that allows you to celebrate all the tricks and treats of Halloween from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle. This event is located on the lower level of the parking structure at The Gardens on El Paseo. Cars will drive through a Halloween themed course filled with decorations and live characters and will exit the parking structure on Larkspur. The fee to participate is only $10 per vehicle and includes a treat bag.
HALLOWEEN SCAVENGER HUNT
OCTOBER 26, 2020 - OCTOBER 31, 2020
Join the Desert recreation District for a fun-filled scavenger hunt in Palm Desert Civic Center Park. You pick your day and time. Follow the spooky clues you are given and complete the clue sheet. Each child that registers will receive a bucket of goodies. Goodies will be handed out from 3pm to 5pm, October 26th through October 31, 2020 at the Palm Desert Community Center. On Monday October 26, you will be emailed the clues to follow.
The Palm Springs Animal Shelter has teamed up with VCA Animal Hospitals to provide free educational sessions with vets and animal experts. The festival takes place Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the costume contest registration starting at 4 p.m. at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter: 4575 E Mesquite Ave, Palm Springs.
Beneath The Sands: A Halloween Weekender
Not in the mood to figure out your entire Halloween weekend? No worries! The Ace Hotel & Swim Club has you covered. From a creeping collage of sounds from around the globe and beyond to a shop of horrors, cocktail party and live performances, Saturday and Sunday are jam-packed with activities.
The Killing Floor with CarnEVIL Haunted House
Presented by Parkwil Manor, the CarnEVIL Haunted House came alive when a couple of people put their movie magic skills to use. CarnEVIL began in September and will stick around for a while: Oct. 4 to Oct. 14, Oct. 17 to Oct. 21, Oct. 25 to Oct. 31. It's the first time Mall-O-Ween comes to town and it's mission is quite clear: to provide a safe place for kids to trick-or-treat alongside their parents. Halloween Carnaval on Arenas Road
On Halloween, many will gather at Arenas Road in Palm Springs for a vibrant Halloween spectacle featuring creative costume contest. Participants stand to win over $1,000. The costume registration opens at 6 p.m., 7:45 p.m. is cut-off and then, at 8 p.m., contestants take the stage. This is a free event with a $5 donation suggested. For more information,
The Halloween-themed music event with “haunting visuals” returns to the Coachella Valley on Oct. 27 at the TackRoom Tavern in Indio. The event will feature four stages of terror-ific fun, including VooDoo Stage, Satan's Tavern, Black Magic Stage, Wicked Hex Stage and, of course, a costume contest. Lulu’s Halloween Party
